On Saturday night, my overly intoxicated self irresponsibly lost my camera. I’m pretty sure it was left on the table at the last bar we were at. Nobody turned it in, assholes. I feel LOST without my camera. There goes my flick-a-days and my weekly photo updates (I kinda got one week in…) Also, this was going to be the week that I took a picture of everything I ate all week. (number 15 on the list.) I guess I’ll probably have to buy a new one. I’m REALLY trying to save money but I feel like a camera is a necessity.

So, anyway. Number 44 on my list is to take a picture every day, and post the pictures weekly. Here are last weeks pictures (with the exception of Sunday because I had no camera 😦 )

April 18 –  I drew this in my sketchbook.

April 19 — I drew another picture in my sketchbook.

April 20 –This is where I take Tasha for her walks.

April 21– I spent hours perfecting the ‘marble’ technique on my nails.

April 22 – my fishy face flick-a-day

April 23 – Friday night drinks on my couch with my friend Melissa.

April 24 – Saturday night at the bar. This is where I lost my camera. (this was taken with my phone)

One more thing.  I’m starting # 9 on the list.  (complete the 200 sit up challenge) I just did my ‘initial sit-up test’ and managed to squeeze out 50 consecutive sit ups.  I guess that’s good because it told me to skip to week 3!  I’m going to be such a badass if i can do 200 consecutive sit ups.  I hope I can do it!

diamond in the rough

I’ve been doing a lot of self reflecting lately.  I’ve been very “in my head” for a few days…i kinda like when i get like this because it makes me feel deep and interesting. But it’s also annoying because my brain needs a break.

what it comes down to is, i suck at communication, and i’m too guarded.

but then a friend said something to make me feel a little better about myself, heres how it went down:

her (9:09:05 PM): remember when i first started to hang out, i thought you hated me bc you never talked to me lol
me (9:09:22 PM): lol yeh it takes me a long time to let people in
me (9:09:27 PM): is that a good thing or bad? i dunno!
her (9:09:42 PM): its both!! it makes you you

and then she went on to give me some analogy about diamonds and coal.  it was actually quite helpful and made me feel less frustrated with myself.
her (9:10:07 PM): think of it like this
her (9:10:32 PM): you go stright to the diamonds before the coal
her (9:10:48 PM): i go through the coal to get the diamonds
her (9:11:00 PM): wtf am i talking about?
me (9:11:05 PM): lolol
me (9:11:20 PM): coal and diamonds? i dont get it
her (9:11:27 PM): lol diamonds come from coal
me (9:12:17 PM): oh so you mean like, i weed out all the coal and find the diamonds?
her (9:12:24 PM): yes!!!
me (9:12:30 PM): i like it!
me (9:12:36 PM): good analogy
her (9:12:37 PM): you dont even bother with the coal, you keep your hands clean!

so, in conclusion, i guess i’m being a little too hard on myself.
but it wouldn’t hurt to break down some of my walls, right?

i’ll try.

in other news, i finally did something to my ‘who?’ page: https://yooshername.wordpress.com/about/

today was a very unhealthy eating day. it’s sunday though, so it’s ok…right? chicken wings, chicken nuggets and a mcflurry made up the diet of the day.  one of these things (or perhaps the combination of all 3) is brawling with my stomach now, though.  i feel as tho i might yak!

got my plane ticket to north carolina.  I’ll be there for a long weekend at the end of february…i guess it’ll be warm there by then! woop! excited. i miss my mumma, and nellers.

I’m not the biggest fan of the word ‘resolution’.  Instead, i’m going to make a small list of goals that I hope to accomplish by the end of 2010.  I’ll check back every few months and update ya’ll on my progress.  Ok, here it goes:

1) blog every day

2) go to the gym AT LEAST 3 days a week (this is starting next week because I have REALLY slacked this week)

3) get at least 3 of my credit cards paid off (at least one with a high balance)

4) SOMEHOW, get back to school

5) stick to my $95/week spending limit

6) fall in love

My new years eve was pretty decent.  I’m gonna go ahead and say it wasn’t as fun as last year because some important people were missing (MOM…AUSTYNN…)  But I still enjoyed myself.  We did the same dang thang we do every year, got drunk at the drapers, and sang ‘happy birthday’ to ryan.   I was among one of the last people still awake at 4am.  All in all, a good time.

Ok, keeping this post short.  I’m meeting Kathy and Robbie for lunch in an hour (mmmm bdubs!) and then the crew is goin to shoguns for ryans birthday dinner! woot! (but bad for my wallet 😦 )  I’m sure some drinks will be had afterword.  Tis the season to get drunk!

sophia inspired me to do this. (she’s doing it as well…so go check hers out after you read mine: http://www.pinkielarue.com/)

it’s basically a year in review. you are supposed to write once a day for every day in december, but since i’m starting a little late i’ll do what i can to catch up.  Read rules and what not HERE: http://blog.20sb.net/2009/12/the-best-of-2009-challenge.html

ok, so here it goes.

What was your best trip in 2009? The best trip I took in 09 is the ONLY trip i took in 09.  ROAAAAD TRIP 09!  Me and Emily drove from detroit to san antonio, with a few stops in between.  We stayed  in Memphis for a couple nights and partied with  soph.  We discovered the greatness that is beale street and big ass beers.  We ate some Memphis bbq and we visited sun studio.  We got stopped by a HOT cop!  We spent a few hours in a tornado warning.  And then as a parting gift, we got bedbug bites.

From Memphis we drove to Dallas.  In Dallas we partied with Emilys friend Daniel.  There was some interesting drama, empty bars, and an entertaining IHOP waiter.  From Dallas we went to San Antonio where we stayed the majority of the time.  We stayed at Sam and Pams house, and holy shizzz it was HOT! (remind me to never move to texas.)  We swam, we sweated, we did beer bongs, we sweated, we swam some more, we drank some beer and we went to the riverwalk (beautiful!) and ate at hard rock cafe.  My bedbug bites were extra itchy in San Antonio and Alison developed a lovely heat rash on our last day there. We flew home, and we definitely looked pretty rough at the airport.  Emily slept the whole flight home which just left me with my music and the window.

Share the best restaurant experience you had this year. Who was there? What made it amazing? What taste stands out in your mind? I am sort of going to copy sophias answer for this question.  I generally do not go to resteraunts often, and when I do I always choose the same places over and over again. Therefor, no amazing experiences really come to mind.  HOWEVER, in January, once I got my feet back on american soil…I couldn’t get to a buffalo wild wings fast enough.  I wasn’t really expecting chicken wings to be the american food I missed the most, but I ALWAYS craved them while I was in amsterdam.  8 chicken wings with medium sauce and a side of ranch (ohhhh I missed ranch while i was gone too) never tasted so good, and i’m pretty sure it’ll never taste that good again.  I even documented it.

Book. What book – fiction or non – touched you? Where were you when you read it? Have you bought and given away multiple copies? I haven’t read much this year.  Actually, i’m pretty sure all I’ve read this year were bukowski books.  I read Post Office, Ham on Rye and Factotum.  Ham on Rye was my favorite of the 3, and I read it in two days in May.  I read it when I first started nannying for tasha and she was only 3 months old …and boring (for lack of a better word).  During that time I also read the first twilight book (which did not live up to all the hype).  I kind of miss those days where I could get some reading in at work,  these days I can’t even read a magazine without her tearing it out of my hands.  Anyway, I havne’t given away any copies but I definitley recommend you read it…it’s an easy read and quite entertaining.

ok that’s it.  Just 3 entries.  I’ll do 3 a day I think….check back soon.
